The aim of this workshop was to bring together developers and users of neuroimaging tools. Developers learnt from users what the needs and challenges in software development are and users learnt about state-of-the-art analysis in the field and how to use existing tools.
The workshop provided an overview of new technologies (cloud computing, e-Science, and workflows) and also discussed how tools can be developed for the healthcare sector (NHS). The meeting included brief 5-minute talks from participants about the current gaps in Neuroinformatics, and provided information about getting funding. Ideally, one or several joint grant initiatives will be the outcome of this workshop.
Date: 24th-25th January 2012
Venue: Percy Building, Newcastle University (Building 23 on the campus map)
Scope - Estimated 40-60 participants, targeted in particular towards UK researchers, PhD students, and postdocs.
Registration has closed as this event has passed..
Travel bursaries Travel bursaries are available for attendees currently based in the UK up to £100. Travel bursary recipients need to book and pay for their own travel. The hotel and meals will be paid directly by the organisers. Non UK participants will have to pay for their travel and hotel themselves. Meals will be provided during the meeting.
Short talks Participants are encouraged to present a brief 5-minute talk covering their research and what they consider as an important gap in the current provision of neuroimaging tools. Please provide the Title and Abstract (max 200 words) of your talk during the online registration.
